Reading the LAFFA menu with an allergy or dietary requirement

Ingredients can help you prepare questions. This guide explains what you can recognise on the menu and what needs a direct conversation with the restaurant.

A short description is not a full declaration

Dish descriptions list main ingredients to help you compare flavours and ask focused questions. They are not a complete allergen matrix and may not name every ingredient in bread, sauce or marinade. A photograph or product name cannot establish the absence of a particular allergen in a preparation.

Examples visible in the menu

Sabich lists egg; malabi lists milk and pistachio; muhammara lists walnuts. Tahini is sesame-based and labneh is dairy. These are examples to guide your questions, not an exhaustive account of all possible allergens in our dishes or of the composition of every ingredient supplied to the restaurant.

Discuss preparation as well as ingredients

Tell the restaurant exactly what you need to avoid and ask whether the dish and preparation can meet that requirement. Consider shared utensils and contact during preparation as well as the recipe itself. Do not assume that a filter or an extras checkbox confirms a suitable substitution or separate preparation.

Ask before placing a real order

Discuss your requirements directly before making assumptions. The visit page helps identify the correct LAFFA branch at Utrechtsestraat 55, Amsterdam. Explore dishes here. Order separately on this branch’s Uber Eats page and check prices and availability there.

Practical questions

Does vegan mean allergen-free?

No. Those labels answer different questions.

Can the website guarantee a modified preparation?

No. Discuss your requirements directly with the restaurant; short menu descriptions cannot confirm this.
